Hi, my name is Erin Townes. I am a senior at Helena High School in Helena, Alabama and I will be graduating in May of 2022. I have been playing tennis since I was 9 years old. I have played USTA junior tournaments since I was 11 and I continue to play them now. Recently, I have begun playing ITA tournaments to ready myself for college competition.
Since the age of 12 I have played summer junior teams. I am on my high school tennis team. In my junior year, I played #1 doubles and #2 singles. We won both section doubles and singles spring 2021. But with that, my first priority is my academics. I am very focused on my grades and academics and I put my school work first. Currently I have 4.14 GPA and I am ranked 38 in my class.
I take private lessons once or twice a week with my coach. I also train at a gym three times a week to keep up with my physical health and endurance. This helps a lot with my physical and mental tennis game.
I want to be able to play college tennis while also pursuing a degree in sports medicine. I have studied sports medicine throughout high school and will continue to study it my senior year. I want to have a career in kinesiology or athletic training.
