My name is Kenley Outzen and I am currently a Junior at Vestavia Hills High School. I began playing tennis at the age of seven and have been playing the sport year round ever since. What I love most about tennis is the variety of skill sets it requires. Not only does it require you to have physical skills, but it also requires mental, technical and tactical skills as well. While I am by no means a “pro” at any of these skills sets, I do feel that I am successfully building on them with each and every private, clinic or match that I play. Academically I completed my Sophomore year with a 4.0 GPA and will be taking three honors courses this year. Academics are very important to me and I hope that is reflective in my GPA. I am excited about the prospect of becoming a collegiate student athlete and how that experience will not only lead to my growth as an athlete, but how it will lead to my growth as a person as well.
