Ana Badulescu '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Ana Badulescu and I started playing tennis at the age of 4. Tennis runs in the family with both my brothers and Mom playing as well as my Dad who self-taught himself during the communist time in Romania. He went on to teach each of his kids and my Mom this amazing sport which will forever be an important part of me. His determination and love for tennis and the will he had to self-teach himself tennis at the back of his apartment building during a difficult period of history has always and will continue to inspire me to play tennis. Even though I started playing at a young age, that doesn't mean that I was ever forced to, meaning that I chose this amazing sport because of the amazing life lessons you learn and for the love of playing and competing. I was very fortunate to be able to do many sports growing up, like soccer, swimming, ballet, gymnastics, and martial arts, but nothing ever compared to tennis. The sport its self is amazing but as well as the power it holds that teaches you many things and helps you compete through tennis and life overall. I'm grateful for my Dad and Mom who taught me and always supported me to make my dreams a reality in tennis, school, and life. I learned unbelievable things from tennis that I will always be grateful for and will use for the rest of my life like determination, hard work, fighting spirit, and to never give up. I believe that I am a great fit on a college tennis team since I know the value and importance of hard work, determination, and team work. Through my years of playing tennis I have learned how to multi task and put tennis and academics on an equal pedestal, knowing how important each is and how each part completes the other. I am very excited to see what the future holds and can't wait to continue to excel in both athletics and academics and be on an amazing college team.
