Hello recruiters! Tennis is my everything, my love and passion. I take every opportunity to not only practice, but to improve. I take tennis seriously, I have so much fun playing. I have been playing competitively since August, 2014. I was made honorary teammate on my schools boys varsity tennis team in 2014 and have the privilege to practice with them daily their past season. My freshman year, I made varsity. I started the season off as number 2 singles, then within a couple weeks my skills improved and I played number 1 singles for the rest of the year for my school. That same year I made CIF as an individual for singles. My Sophomore year, I became Varsity team Captain, earned team MVP, earned league MVP, went undefeated in league and went to CIF Individuals after winning the individuals league tournament. This year my Junior year, I held my position as Captain and Team Leader, and I look forward to the accomplishments to come. One of my most memorable accomplishments was when I competed in my first satellite tournament in November, 2014. I faced many obstacles throughout the tournament. The first round I got major leg cramps, causing me to injure my ankle, but giving up was not part of my game plan. My perseverance and skill, my overall personality and skill, is what earned my spot as a finalist in my first tournament. Being a student-athlete, I know my grades are just as important as my athletic ability. Therefore in order for me to achieve my second goal of majoring in Biology to pursue a medical degree, I need to continue to showcase my potential to its fullest. I have also involved in leadershipmost my life, which is also a big part of my life, helping my school and community. I plan to join Interact as well for more opportunities to help out. Helping the community is not only necessary, but I enjoy giving back. I am the type of person who is successful at anything I set my mind to. I am driven, hardworking, ambitious, intelligent, caring and loyal. The strongest skill I have in tennis is my strong mental game. My mental game is made of determination, positivity, and intelligence. Also having fun is important to my mental game, you will succeed better if you have fun doing what you love as well. Respect is a huge part of this sport. Im always sure to be respectful on and off the court. I continue to work hard and improve as much as possible because tennis stays one of the most important things about me. I continue to help and encourage the the team, and myself through this next tennis season. I was also in an athletic leadership class fall of Sophomore year, to better my leading skills and apply them to my team. This year I am ecstatic to improve as a player and as a person through tennis, as I keep my good grades for my plan to major in Biology. Well recruiters, now that you know a little about me, I would love to hear more about your schools and what they have to offer. Till I can get help uploading my new video, here is a link to a couple seasons back; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_u2uOPRiD_8
Respectfully and eagerly,
Summer Reaves
