Hello, my name is Grace Shumate. I was homeschooled up until my sophomore year of high school, then went to Rim of the World High School to participate in sports. I was eager to join the tennis team, and it became an extended family. I have been playing for three years. The second year, my doubles partner, (which also happened to be my twin sister) and I became varsity alternates. The third year, we both made varsity and became the number two doubles and the number three doubles. Our team became league champions and this year my doubles partner and I became number one doubles in our league. We then went onto individual CIF and made it to the second round. I love the game. I was awarded "most determined" and "most fearless" on my team, received the Coach's Award for "going above and beyond what is expected of a High School athlete, for showing respect to coaches, teammates and opponents, and for challenging herself on and off the courts." I am eager to learn and compete. Thank you for considering me.
