Hello, my name is Anika Amladi, I’m 14 years old and a freshman at Oak Park High School in Oak Park California. I’ve been playing and practicing tennis for 3 years and have been competing in the VCJTA and USTA for 1 year. I am currently on the JV Tennis team for my high school and have competed and won several competitions both in singles and doubles. I know this seems like a very little amount of time to be competing but I’ve improved a great deal. I’ve played quite a few sports including basketball, golf, soccer, and karate, but tennis is by far my favorite. I really want to compete at the next level because I know I can succeed and I know it will help me improve and grow as a student athlete.
I would be an important asset to your college because I’m hardworking and I’m always trying to push myself to be better than I was before. My desire to improve and win is not just for athletics but in other things like music (I play the flute and piano) and most importantly academics. My coaches would describe me as someone who never gives up, takes instruction and just keeps pushing forward.
My goal is to compete at the highest levels I can reach in tennis and in academics. I spend my time between school and practice both as part of the school team as well as on my own. I believe I can bring a great deal to your school and I hope that you will consider me for your program as I am always striving to be better and I am a dedicated team player in every setting.
