Faith Son '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches! My name is Faith Son and I will be an incoming senior at Santa Clara High school. It’s been a dream of mine to play college level tennis, and my goal is to be able to find a team that I can commit to starting the fall of 2022. I started playing since I was 7 years old, and I started training seriously since 11 years old. The summer of 2015, I trained six days a week for at least 4 hours a day to further improve my tennis abilities. I couldn't wait to get out on the courts every single day to start practicing, and I truly have a passion for this sport which is why I want to continue my journey into college playing the game I love. While maintaining my 4.0 GPA since freshman year of high school, I was upgraded to singles 2 from singles 3 my freshman year and since then sustaining my position as singles 1, and I wouldn't have given up the experience for anything else because it taught me key lessons like confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Regardless whether I won or lost a match, I viewed it as a learning experience that always gives me motivation to perform better on the courts. One thing to know about me is that I am very coachable, and I am always seeing advice to further improve my game. I work hard on and off the court every day, and I hope I can bring my diligence to a team next year. While I have been a singles player the majority of my tennis journey, I am also a well rounded doubles player that can communicate well with my partner. My overall wish is to play for a team that is both academically and athletically competitive, because I love the challenge. I look forward to hearing from you coaches!
