Tennis has always been a major aspect in my life. I have been competing both in my high school varsity tennis team as well as playing tournaments. I have had a number of successful matches playing against other strong, competitive players. However, the most important lessons that I learn are from the obstacles I face when I play. I’ve learned to “bounce back” when I have had some tough losses in past from tournaments and high school matches. There were times when I also didn’t believe in myself before I stepped on the court, but I still pushed through and managed to win. These lessons that I’ve learned through competing helped me recognize my strengths and my ability to play. I recognize I advantage I have to be a left handed player, the strength to hit a powerful serve or forehand, and the ability to strategize a point. I apply the confidence and determination that I gained from competing into my academics as well to be in the honor and high honor roll. I’m looking forward to play in a team for college, because I want to compete in an environment that would help me improve my skills, discover new strengths, and most importantly learn about the aspect of competing with a team. I plan on going into pre-medicine in a college and pursue a medical career.
