My name is Jessica Chung, I'm a High School Junior Graduating in the Spring of 2025 from Appoquinimink High School. At the age of 11 I have dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player, since then I have progressed my skills both on and off the courts to improve not only my academics, but also my abilities and skills in tennis. Over time as I improved my journey in tennis, I always would mark myself with three words: dedication, determination, and sportsmanship.
Other than tennis, I enjoy traveling, baking, going to the gym, or any activities with my family and friends. In my school I'm associated in multiple clubs such as Jazz Band, Marching Band, AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islanders Club), Investment Club, and HOSA (Future Health Professionals). Outside of school, I have been volunteering as a Folk Dancer for 11 years and still going, I also work as a Lifeguard and a Head Swim Instructor at the YMCA. For the schools athletic department, I am the Appoquinimink High School Indoor Track Manger. I have been managing the schools indoor track team since my freshman year. I have been part of my schools varsity tennis team for three years, and won the Blue Hen Conference two years in a row. In the past two years, I played first doubles. This year I will be the captain of the girls tennis team, and play first seed singles.
Tennis has taught me sportsmanship, emotional control, and respect for all, I learned to grow my leadership and athletic character over the years. I hope that not only my skills in tennis will improve, but also become a dedicated and supportive member of your team!
