Hi, my name is Sydney Taylor, and I first picked up a racket at the age of 5. As a child, it has always been my dream to excel in the tennis world and achieve great things. Whenever I can, I volunteer to help children with special needs learn tennis, and I also work as a tennis coach to teach young kids the sport. Currently, I play for Cornerstone Charter Academy, and this past season we maintained an undefeated record of (15-0) until States. I devote at least 4 out of 7 days a week to practice and consistently participate in tournaments to further immerse myself in the sport and refine my skills.
What sets me apart is my resilience. In high-pressure situations, such as a close tie-breaker or a long match, I refuse to let the fear of losing overshadow my performance. I am always willing to put in the hard work and go the extra mile to improve exponentially. Additionally, I always maintain a positive attitude, regardless of whether I am playing at my best or if the match results don't go as planned. I firmly believe that the outcome of a game should not dictate my future mood or mindset.
While I am a dedicated athlete, I prioritize my academic pursuits and currently hold a 5.1 weighted GPA. Tennis holds immense significance in my life, and the opportunity to be a part of any program and further expand my journey means everything to me.
