Hi, my name is Emma Carey. I started playing tennis when I was in the 7th grade. I was on my middle school team and really loved the sport. I started to play competitively, and now have an internship with my coach this year learning how to string rackets, do court work, and manage a tennis pro shop. Last summer I taught at a tennis camp in my town, and I loved working with the children and teaching them just like my coach still teaches me! I have played four years of varsity tennis at Venice High School in Florida. My sophomore year our team received state runner up. We won districts my freshmen and sophomore year and received runner up in districts my junior year. I designed the teams t-shirts and jackets, I love to get involved! This season, 2013, I was selected as team co- captain. I am a good student with a weighted GPA of 3.5, and enjoy being part of a team. I plan to attend college and be successful in my studies, and continue building my leadership skills. I am excited to be part of a tennis team building lifelong relationships with other girls at a college or university. I am a hard worker and look forward to being involved in a school, and the surrounding community.
