The beginning of my junior year was the most life changing year for me athletically. I decided that I wanted to take my passion for tennis to the next level. I enrolled myself as a half day student at Johns Creek High School, and committed myself to 4 hours a day at my academy, GA Tennis Academy. I have often been recognized for my work ethic. I am so devoted and eager to increase my level of play for tennis that I additionally hit serves or work with the ball machine an hour before practice begins! As part of my routine, I wake up before school and workout with my weight trainer at Stax Elite Training facility and then I go to school from there. School serves an important role in my life, and I work diligently in all my classes to make sure I maintain an A or high B average.
I’ve achieved many accomplishments both athletically and academically. My freshman year, I was selected to play varsity tennis. That year my team made it to semifinals in state. My coach had a lot of trust in my game, therefore put me in as line 3 singles for the regional playoff rounds against eventual state champions, Northview High School. The summer of my sophomore year, I tried out for Team Atlanta as part of the Maccabiah Games and was selected for the team. The Maccabiah Games are an olympic-style tournament which kids from both the United States, Israel, and Canada come together to compete. In tennis, I individually made it to the Quarterfinals. My Junior year, I was selected and worked hard to earn the line 1 singles for the school varsity team. I often played SEC commits and the machetes were over an hour. I never let them have an easy win; they always had to work to earn each point. As for academics, I was recommended to be on Newspaper my freshman year. That year the staff had won the Silver Crown Award at Columbia University. As a sophomore, I was chosen to be an editor. My love for tennis as well as journalism will continue to grow as I move through high school and into college.
