My Tennis Journey
I wasn’t supposed to play tennis, but I overcame the sport’s stereotypical barriers.
I started playing tennis at the age of 6 at the recommendation of my mom. I was hooked immediately. Unfortunately, the lack of available and affordable programs were out of reach in my neighborhood, so I was a part of creating free programming in the underserved communities. Now I’m a Wilson Tennis Global Ambassador and champion tennis through my youth tennis organization, Multicultural Tennis Assoc. a non profit USTA NJTL/CTA Chapter. I use my platform to serve more than a game inspiring thousands worldwide to play tennis regardless of their economic situation. By volunteering as a coach, since I was 9, at schools and parks giving free tennis lessons to many kids that otherwise wouldn’t have played, I’ve learned to appreciate the power of philanthropy. I have learned that a leader helps others become better versions of themselves.
I’m a competitive tournament player that continues to seek improvement by training on and off the court. I have played USTA tournaments as high as Level 2 National tournaments and have proven myself as a champion many times. I also play for my high school #1 Doubles as a Freshman (City and Sectional Doubles Champion and All-State recognition) as a Sophomore #1 Singles, 3rd Place Sectionals and State Championships qualifier as a Junior #1 Singles, 3rd Place Sectionals and State Championships qualifier. High school tennis has taught me how to be a reliable teammate in an individual sport like tennis.
Academically, I also challenge myself with honors courses all while maintaining a 4.0+ GPA
I look forward to the next level and joining a college team where I can contribute would be a dream come true.
Thank you for considering me.
