My name is Anya Mookencherry. I am a 2025 singles and doubles tennis player attending New Trier High School (NTHS), located in Winnetka, IL. I play singles and doubles on the NTHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team. I am in the top 10 players of the 100 players on the NTHS Girls tennis team. I was a multi-sport athlete who had a passion for both tennis and soccer. I started playing both sports at the age of 5. At the age of 11 I chose to pursue tennis as my only sport because I enjoyed it the most. Since the age of 8, I have been training in both tennis groups and privates as well as playing continuously in tournaments with the goal of achieving the highest level of play that I can. I am part of the Championship Training Academy group that is currently managed by Coach Mark Bey. My goal is to achieve both academic and athletic excellence as a student-athlete in college. For me, tennis is an important and inspiring sport, that consistently presents opportunities to learn more as a person and an athlete.
