Hi coach,
My name is Faith Maria Vela and I am a Freshman in High School. I have been practicing and playing tennis for about the last 5 years. The last 2 years, I have truly fallen in love with the sport. With great coaching from my tennis pros and coaches (which include my grandpa), I have seen my skill level improve greatly. As a Freshman and my first year of competitive play, I was the JV first court singles player. I have my goals set academically and on the court for the next 3 years and plan on reaching all of them. I love the game of tennis and play/practice every spare moment.
My collegiate goals and aspirations include obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Education and become a dual language Spanish/English teacher. I have been in a bilingual spanish/english program that began in Kindergarten and will carry through to my High School graduation. I will be taking AP Spanish my Junior year in High School and I will graduate with a Spanish and English diploma. Academics is of course the most important college aspiration I have, but the other is tennis. I would like to be part of a college team and be able to play the game I love throughout my college career. I am a coachable girl with a great attitude and always have a smile on my face. I am serious about my tennis game and have a great work ethic when it comes to school and tennis.
