When I was nine, I first picked up a tennis racket to participate in my hometown summer league. I wasn't in love with the sport at first, but it came later, as I became close with the team. Most of my high school tennis team has played together since we were in elementary and middle school, and are friends even outside of the sport, making me an influential team player since I first started playing. Four years later, I started participating in tournaments, and my love of the sport grew tremendously. I started working harder, playing year-round in tournaments, taking lessons, and clinics. I became obsessed with the sport in order to improve my skills. I grew from a background player on my team to the number one player. I intend to keep improving in order to beat my personal goals, which will be reflected in my state and southern rankings. I hope to bring my dedication, competitiveness, and comradery to the college level, in tennis and in class. I hope to complete my undergraduate degree in either international relations/studies or political science (or maybe both, who knows?) but I am also looking to broaden my horizons with classes outside my major. After graduation, I hope to go on to graduate school.
