Tennis has had a huge impact on my life. I started quite late as I began freshman year. I immediately loved it, my father would always take me out to the courts during the summer and practice with me. It brought us closer and allowed me to learn from him. He would always challenge me and provide positive feedback. Currently I’ve been on a winter league team for 2 years, it’s all indoors. Consecutively I have played tennis for over 3 years. My skills have improved immensely since joining my league team. It allowed me to improve my over skill set and make friends in the community who shared the same love of tennis. I am always challenging myself, during my sophomore year I was pulled up to varsity. I was women’s first doubles and mixed first doubles. I ranked in the top 5 for our women’s ladder. I was selected for mixed doubles to compete in counties, we ended up making it to day 2. I was able to observe the games and learn from the other players. This helped me develop how to read the court. These experiences showed me how much I loved tennis, knowing I can always improve myself, and enjoy every moment while playing.
