From a very young age, my parents introduced me to different sports and musical instruments to have me find what my interests would be later on in life and to help me become a well rounded individual. I was at least 4 years old when I was introduced to gymnastics and soccer. Later on, I started ballet lessons and piano lessons as well. Around the age of five, my father introduced me to tennis. My father was the first coach that I have ever had and eventually I got different coaches that broadened my horizons of new knowledge for tennis, but I still have my father as my personal coach. I fell in love with the game and what it offers and I have been very fortunate that my parents were able to enroll me at the Westboro Tennis and Swim Club.
A year ago, I decided to pursue the Physical Therapy and DPT career. Being an athlete with a degree in DPT, I believe that I can help people with my knowledge from playing a sport and a great education. I am hopeful that I can be understanding of people’s injuries and the struggles it takes to recover, especially if they are sports related. Besides that I would be able to work with people one on one and to help them through whatever injuries they might be coming out of is something that is driving me to find the right college that would fit me as who I am and what I stand for.
Through my college years, I am looking to have a great academic education and looking forward to continuing playing tennis. Tennis is something that is part of who I am and believe in. I have been competing in USTA and UTR Tournaments on and off high school seasons and looking forward to keeping my competitive passion throughout the college years.
I am a rising senior and starting my college applications to find the right fit as to where I would like to end up. As of right now I am attending the Advance Math and Science Charter Academy in Marlborough, MA. I have been a student and a tennis player at AMSA since my 6th grade. I joined the newly formed girls tennis team as a JV and by 7th grade I was on the varsity tennis team. In 8th grade I was the 3rd singles and had a successful first year playing. Unfortunately for my 9th grade there was no tennis season due to COVID year. By 10th grade, I played 2nd singles on the varsity team and finished undefeated for the season with a 19-0 record. The same year 2021 our team was the State Champions for the first time in the history of the school and I received the T&G Hometeam girls' tennis All-Stars 2021.
This year 2022, I played 1st singles on the team and was the captain. As a recognition for my hard work at the end of the season I received the MVP award.
Academically, I have been an honor roll student and will be taking AP Psychology class in the fall. This past spring, I organized a fundraiser for the Ukrainian Children from Romania and was able to raise more than $2000 to help the children in need with the hardship caused by the war.
Being able to balance my academics and sports has given me an input on everyday life and the responsibilities that come from it. Even with all my accomplishments, there is still room for improvement and new things to learn about the world and myself. The High School Varsity Tennis team has been a great influence through my high school years and I am looking forward to a whole new experience in college and to see what new adventures a college tennis team will await for me.
