Sutton Julsrud '22 Recruiting Profile

Tennis is a sport that has been part of my life for over 10 years. It has taught me teamwork, leadership,  commitment and friendship. I am a person that is passionate about tennis, it brings many rewards and also helps one learn a lot about themselves. As a tennis player, I am the one that the team can always count on to do my best.  I will fight for every point and do well under pressure. I have been told that my game face is the same when I am winning or losing.  As a captain of our team,  I am also a motivator and mentor to my teammates.  While tennis may appear to many as an individual sport,  I have found that most rewards come when it is a team sport.  I am always working to improve, both on an off the court.  A loss is always a disappointment, but it also is an opportunity to learn how to improve.  As an athlete, this has allowed me to steadily improve.  If I could pick one thing that helps me most and separates me from others, it would be perseverance.  I do not give up. Even if I am down 0-6, 0-5, I will still try for every ball and do my best to win.
