I began playing tennis the summer before my freshman year. I immediately loved the sport. I played JV my freshman year, and my love for tennis only grew bigger. I began private lessons year round and decided at that point that I'd like to pursue playing at the collegiate level.
My sophomore year I played #2 singles (and #1 doubles on occasion) for our Varsity team. As a junior, we were not able to complete the tryout process due to the Covid-19 closures, but I anticipated playing #1 or #2 singles.
Although I have only been at the sport for a few years, what started as an enjoyable past time has now turned into a passion of mine. I'm a lefty and I've got a strong backhand. My strengths also include my approach shots. I am extremely coachable and pay close attention to detail. I make adjustments as necessary and strive to get better every day. I am dedicated to the sport and practice year round.
I hope to play at the collegiate level to further my level of competition and gain advanced training from college coaches and teammates. I would make a good candidate as a student-athlete for your college team because I exhibit excellent teamwork and I have a very strong work ethic. I attend all practices, meetings, and workouts on time. I promote togetherness with my teammates and know the importance of camaraderie. Academics have always been a priority to me. I am a member of the National Honor Society, and I have always been able to balance school, athletics, and several extra-curricular activities. I am involved in my community and church, and I take part in many volunteer opportunities. I aspire to be a Special Education teacher. I love helping others and working with children.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to playing on your team.
