Sports have always been a major part of my life. Ever since I was born, I was raised in a household where soccer was entertainment. Having a sporty little brother and dad who are both extremely competitive definitely helped drive me to become better and also made me love sports. I played soccer for 5 years and when I was 12 started playing tennis, where I wanted to quit at the beginning since it was so difficult and boring, but who knew a year later I would be so in love with the sport that I want to play 24/7 and it is the thing that makes me the happiest even when I am upset, stressed, and/or sad.
Outside of school sports, I am a very individual player, joining singles tournaments, playing at Moorestown Tennis Club, and training at the gym as many times a week as I can, which is another great passion of mine. The gym has become a lifestyle that also brought along nutrition another thing I am in love with. I help train my friends and brother at the gym and being able to go allowed me to gain knowledge of the body and how to be strong and healthy, which is making me an even better player.
Tennis has always been my escape from the problems and rocky paths life has taken me on. I have always found it a place where I can truly let off steam, focus on myself, and block out everything else. I don’t think I have gone one day playing tennis and telling myself “I wish I wasnt’ here” or “this is boring”. I hope my love for the sport will follow me to college and beyond.
Moreover, relating more to my potential college fields that I might major in, I am all over the place. I love the idea of being independent and starting a business but also want to show my love for medicine and sports by becoming an athletic trainer. Currently, I lean more towards the sports medicine field and playing a sport in college will better prepare me for it.
From the gym to the courts, to coaching tennis and training friends, I have acquired so many important traits that make me a better team player on and off the court. I love being part of a team because you all truly become one family and support each other through everything.
