Hello, I am one of four sisters in my family. I have triplet sisters that are two years older than me and we all love sports. While growing up, my family and I played every sport you could imagine. Ultimately each one of us chose one sport that really stood out to us. I decided to play tennis at a competitive level the summer after my 6th grade year. What got me hooked on tennis was when I was asked to help warm up with a player who didn’t have a partner at one of the tournaments my sister was competing at. I was able to hit well with her and after watching the competition that day, I knew that I also wanted to play.
Through the competition in tournaments and high school play, I have found that tennis has helped me grow as a person and as an athlete. Whether I am playing doubles or singles, I have learned that tennis is a team sport. You may compete on the court by yourself but you win as a team. Your teammates become family and I know how important it is to be there for one another. I am excited to continue to grow and learn as a student athlete at the collegiate level. I know I can be a great team player and will continue to be a student of the sport of tennis.
Tennis Life
Life is tennis you play to win
Each game you play throws you a spin
You learn from missed shots how to play
So you can beat your rival on another day
Play the sport cause I love the game
On court myself no other to blame
Blood, sweat tears I put in my time
So one day I will hit my prime
No time for me to lollygag
I’m on my way with my tennis bag
