Hi! My name is Emerson Kearney. I’m in the class of 2024. I started playing tennis at the age of five when my family lived overseas in Hong Kong, and I immediately fell in love with the sport. When I moved to Eugene, Oregon in 2015, I began training year-round and have competed in USTA and UTR tournaments for the past eight years. I have often played at least one age group above my own. I qualified for the Pacific Northwest 12s team and competed at Zonals at the age of eleven.
I have played three years of Varsity tennis for my high school team. I have played two seasons of singles losing only one match. As a sophomore I won the District Championship in singles, losing in the quarterfinals at the OSAA State Tournament. This past season, I played #1 Doubles with my sister, winning the District Championship, and finishing the season 26-1 with our only loss coming in the State Championship match.
My goal is to compete at the highest level of tennis that I can, while preferably studying Business or Architecture. I’m working hard every day to improve different aspects of my game so I can continue playing tennis at the collegiate level.
