I have been playing water polo in Oregon since I was 11, and I’ve enjoyed nearly every moment of it. I love seeing the progress that I’ve made myself and the progress of my team. Water polo in Oregon is growing, but is still pretty small. I want to play on a collegiate team that will give me more opportunities and experiences than I’ve been able to find while playing club and high school in Oregon.
I'm very competitive, and the intensity of collegiate water polo would be an exciting step up from club and high school competition. I’ve known I wanted to play water polo at the collegiate level for a while, and part of the reason playing past high school is so important to me is because I would love to be a water polo coach in the future. As a coach, I want to be able to have as much experience and as much knowledge of the sport as possible, so I can train successful athletes myself.
I am interested in pursuing studies in nutrition, psychology or similar fields at school, which I think will benefit my health and mentality as an athlete, as well as my ability to safely and effectively train younger water polo players.
