My name is Mallory Conner and I’m passionate about the game of tennis. I’ve been playing tennis ever since I was 5 years old and fell in love with the sport. Playing college tennis has always been the #1 goal of mine and I am always willing to work hard to achieve it. Many coaches have described me as driven and a very hard worker. I am very coachable, disciplined, and not afraid to challenge myself. I have a good mix of being highly competitive while also treating my competition with respect and fairness. I aim to be a good example for others on and off the court. I’ll be the first one at practice and the last one to leave. I’m also determined to well in school. I take all the highest academic classes and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I view my academic success as a result of my effective time management, organization, focus in class, and studying out of class.
Whether it be private lessons with my coach or long training sessions with a group I’m always wanting to improve my game. I have the drive to set a goal and work hard to achieve it. I also recognize that the mental side is so important in tennis. Especially when you're playing singles because it’s simply you versus them. I always maintain a fighting spirit even when I’m not on top of my game. Taking the match point by point and focusing on what I can control has led me to much success.
