Hello, my name is Caitlin Koch and I am currently a Junior at Klein High School in Spring, Texas. I am a tennis player on the Varsity team and also a USTA Champ. Tennis is something that is a big part of my life. One of my biggest goals in life is to play collegiate sports, specifically tennis. I have been surrounded by the air of competitive sports since I was a baby and have never left sight of making sports a part of my life. College is something I have also looked forward to for a very long time. My aspirations for college are big as I plan to earn a master's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. From there, I aspire to go into a physical therapy program and become a licensed physical therapist and someday work with a professional sports team. I also hope to have the opportunity to minor in Psychology to better grow my understanding of people and to help myself become an effective physical therapist.
Being a good team member means more to me than just being a good athlete. I have leadership skills, compassion and competitive drive that all account for my love for tennis. As a newer addition to the ever growing game of tennis, my game is still developing and is getting better each and every day. With every match, I sit down and evaluate my playing and find things I can improve on day in and day out. I feel like my competitive drive to win and my optimistic attitude I hold on the court add to the overall value of myself as a player and make me a good candidate for a collegiate tennis team.
I have found that throughout the years many things have changed to make me into the person I am today. I find myself shining positivity onto everyone I see but also having one foot on the ground in reality to balance myself out with the world. Academically I am a well rounded student but I find my strong suits in Sciences and Social Studies. I love to learn and like to learn new things any chance I get. My ability to step out of my comfort zone make me a better problem solver and a coachable athlete. I am also involved with the Health Occupations Students of America to better my understanding of my major and to connect with others. Athletically I am extremely well rounded, as I have played many sports over the years and have found myself not having troubles adapting from one to the next. Tennis however is different. Instead of just adapting to it like the other sports, I found tennis migrating to other sports I played. This realization led me to become the tennis player you see here.
