My name is Bailey Dietzmann and my dream is to play college tennis. Although I started playing competitively for USTA later than others, I have and will continue to put in the necessary work and dedication to achieve that goal. I am a disciplined worker who listens tentatively to my coaches and mentors. My consistent work regimen consists of 1-hour private lessons 5 days a week with an additional 2-3 hours a day of court play. Growing up, I participated and excelled in various sports including soccer, basketball, and volleyball up until my freshman year when l realized tennis is my true passion. I’ve played on the varsity tennis team since my freshman year. Although my doubles partner and I had only been playing together for a couple of weeks prior to the tournament, we won 3rd in District my freshman year and 1st in District my sophomore year. I was captain of the varsity team my junior year and competed in singles even though I am very much a team player. When senior year begins, I will continue to be captain of the team along with playing singles. I am a strong leader on and off the court. I have always held leadership positions in school such as President of NJHS and one of 6 members to represent our entire school for Honor Council. I am president of Interact Club (an organization that oversees the community service hours within the upper school) as well as a member of the Student Council. I not only play tennis competitively but I balance a high GPA while taking AP and honors courses at a very competitive college preparatory high school. What sets me apart from other prospects is my positive attitude, my willingness to always improve my craft, my work ethic, and my passion for the game.
