Hi, I’m Ellagrace.
I’ve been playing tennis for 7 years with Kluge Tennis Center in my hometown of Cypress, Texas. Coach Mohan Gownder has taught me all aspects of the game. I eat , sleep, and breathe tennis but due to a level 2 concussion in 2021 I had to take a step back.
I love all things tennis and am enjoying learning doubles, though I’m truly a singles player. I’m looking for a college that will help me improve my game while also offering academic support. I plan to study History & perhaps follow my father into law.
As I stated earlier, I‘ve been recovering from a brain injury which caused me to have Post Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) so I took some time off but am now on the mend! (I take meds and drink 2 liters of electrolytes daily to prevent symptoms.) Coach Gownder says I actually play like a 4/5UTR right now but I’m focusing on my health and playing varsity my senior year over UTR tournaments.
UPDATE: I transferred to Concordia Lutheran High School for my senior year and now play for Coach Mike Shantz. His program includes daily conditioning and 2 hours of drills and match play. I will also continue playing with Coach Gownder 3 evenings a week and with other varsity players another two evenings. My skills continue to improve as does my health.
Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.
Warmly,
Ellagrace Flournoy
