February 2019Personal Statement
My college goals include obtaining a scholarship and graduating from a school with high academic standards while contributing to the success of the school’s tennis team.
I have a 4.0 GPA and I am taking AP and intensified courses. At my high school, I am Founder and President of Sega Service Club, a National Honor Society Member, Student Body Vice President, New Student Mentor and on the Executive Board of our Student Government. I’m also a member of the Student Advisory Council to the Arlington County Virginia School Board where we present student concerns to the Superintendent of Schools.
As a teammate, I work to foster an encouraging and inspiring environment. Being captain this year, I continually push to improve the team’s conditioning and skill development as well as promote academic resources. As doubles player, I communicate well with my partner and create opportunities to play our best shots. My mixed style of play as a singles player is what distinguishes me most from other recruits. I am an aggressive, serve and volley style player; yet, I will take the time to develop my points and hit extra balls to win the point. Skills that also help me stand out from other competitors are my comfort at the net, heavy topspin forehand, and calm composure. My height, athleticism and use of shot variety make me a good fit for a coach’s line up.

Treasurer of Student Government Association (SGA) YHS Class of 2020 Member of SGA Executive Board--coordinate Homecoming, Spirit Weeks and Blood Drives Member of Student Advisory Board (SAB) The SAB meets monthly with the Assistant Superintendent and the Arlington County School Board to present the concerns of the students.
