Hi, my name is Caroline Carpenter I am currently a rising junior at Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Va, which is a all-girls school. I just recently finished my first fall season of varsity tennis, and also the winter indoor tennis program at the Middleburg tennis club.
I have been playing tennis since I was very young, but I didn't get serious about it until I was 11 years old. I trained multiple times a week in group clinics and also private lessons with my coach. I have always loved playing tennis, and it has always been an outlet for me.
I played my first varsity season this year, and playing on a team is very different from private lessons and clinics. I loved playing on the team and being surrounded by people who have similar interests as me, and similar goals. I brought a lot of team spirit and a positive attitude to the team, and I was always cheering on my teammates, being there to support them.
For the past two summers, I have been a camp counselor at a tennis camp at a local country club. During the time I have been helping with the camp I have been able to help younger kids develop a love for tennis and to help them improve their game to the best of my abilities.
I have not played many tournaments, I currently don't have a user or any rankings. I do plan over the winter to play tournaments around my area and to hopefully build up my UTR and other rankings.
Academics are very important to me, and they play a major role in what college/ university I chose to further my education and tennis career. The school I am attending has a rigorous course list, and all classes are honors-level classes, with many choices of AP classes. My school also has a concentration program that allows students to have a focus of study in a specific topic like, stem, animal science, arts, and global studies. I am currently enrolled in a global studies concentration focusing on international trade and government regulation between two different countries. My parents have always stressed how important education is. I feel I am a great student and a great athlete and I will a great addition to a college tennis team.
As of right now, I don't know what I am going to study in college, but I have interests in Business and Exercise Science. Which are two very different topics, but I am hoping to find something in between.
Thank you for your consideration.
