Hello, my name is Malikah Traore, and I've been playing tennis for 3 years. My freshman year I played exhibition matches, then sophomore year I played singles no. 6 and doubles no. 3. My junior year I played singles no. 5 and doubles no. 2. I used to play basketball before I switched to tennis, and my passion for tennis grew during the pandemic. Since I was a freshman, I've been playing on my school's varsity team. Although I enjoy playing tennis, my academics are truly important to me. I attend two schools: my home school, (Grafton High) and a magnet school, (The Governor's School for Science and Technology). At Governor's School, I engage in very rigorous courses. For example, this year I took AP Physics I & II, Research and Methodology, AP Statistics, and Precalculus. Despite attending two different schools, I have been able to play tennis without any difficulties. Over the summer, I participate in local tennis tournaments and take lessons. I would love to continue playing tennis while also focusing on my studies!
