Personal Statement
This last year has been filled with changes for me. My family moved to a larger city 30 miles from our small, rural hometown. At the same time, I made the decision to attend online school through WACA to allow for more advanced training opportunities and make tournament travel easier.
In the last year I've had the opportunity to train at Smith Stearns in Hilton Head, South Carolina and at Gorin Tacoma. As much as I loved Smith Stearns, I found my home away from home at Gorin. I also added strength and agility training to my weekly schedule at Elite Athletics and have increased my fitness levels a lot. My local tennis training facility is The Pacific Clinic, where I train with my coach several times per week and play a lot of doubles matches in addition to singles practice.
Playing tennis as a junior is a big part of my life right now. I’m learning how to be organized, keep a tight schedule, and find the balance of tennis and training with school, friends and family. I am looking forward to playing college tennis because as much as I love competing individually, I'm really excited to be part of a team.
