I first met the sport of tennis when I was six years old. From then on, my love of the game continued to intensify with each lesson and tournament I participated in. Then, as a freshman, my tennis career took off when I joined the high school varsity team. This opportunity gave me a sense of community and pushed me to do my best as my teammates were depending on me. During my sophomore year, I was given the chance to teach a four-week tennis class at my school and earn credit for it. This event pushed me to develop my leadership and tennis skills by spreading my love of the game to twenty of my classmates. My passion for tennis has continued to grow over these last few years in high school and has taught me perseverance, patience, a strong work ethic, and has developed my leadership skills.
Looking ahead to my college years, I envision myself attending a school with strong academics that will push me to excel and develop new skills for the future. In addition to academics, I would love the opportunity to be able to perform on a college team surrounded by teammates that would challenge me to bring out the best in my game and myself. I think that I would be a great addition to a college team because I offer a friendly and encouraging personality, am coachable, process leadership skills, and have a strong love and passion for the game.
