I started running cross country when I was in 6th grade and fell in love with it almost instantly. I have continued running cross country since then, and I also started running track when I was offered a position on the varsity team as an eighth-grader. My first season of track was probably the best season I was ever a part of. I learned that running track was my passion and that it was something I wanted to pursue in college. Most importantly, I learned that the relationships that are formed in track or cross country are friendships that will last forever. Some people may say that running is an individual sport, but it is truly a team sport. Running forms an unbreakable bond with others as you struggle through the tough times together in order to reach a common goal. It was very hard to watch the seniors on my team leave, especially the ones that were on my All-State 4x400m relay team. Our bond was so strong because we all worked together to reach the final goal and it was such an amazing feeling to win first at state that year knowing that all our hard work had paid off. My primary event in track is the 400m but I also run the 200m, 800m, 4x400mr, and 4x800mr. Although sports are very important to me, my education and my relationship with God and my family always comes first and are my main priorities in life. I am always striving to be the best student-athlete that I can be and to learn new things in the classroom and on the track. I am so thankful for all the coaches that have taught me how to be the best athlete that I can be and have helped me grow into the person that I am today. I am looking forward to what God has in store for the rest of my running career and my life.
