To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift. Steve Prefontaine
There are over 200,000 high school long-distance runners, and I am a proud member of this group. While each runner has a story, mine starts with my faith, identity, and character. From my earliest existence, I have demonstrated that I am a fighter. I set goals and follow through by making the most of every situation, working hard to overcome obstacles, and never giving up. While the process is not easy, my values, character, and mindset drive me to continuous improvement in all aspects of my life.
I am a determined student-athlete and consistently perform at a high level while taking advanced classes and competing in XC, indoor and outdoor track, and hunter show jumping. I maintain a GPA of 3.87 and receive annual recognition for academic performance.
I am dedicated to running, competing, and using my experience to lead and mentor others. My running career began in the 7th grade. Although it was my first year, I ran as part of the varsity team, qualifying for the Alabama State Championship in cross-country (XC) and track. I have competed at this level each year since 2018. I have proven durability in training and competition and work daily to improve my strength, speed, and mental toughness. I run between 35-45 miles per week based on heart monitor management and VO2Max. As the only varsity female runner,
My core values of faith, excellence, and personal responsibility shape my character. I demonstrate self-management, motivation, and discipline across academics, running, and equestrian competitions. I am honest and trustworthy, and I face setbacks and high-pressure situations with courage and persistence, seeking to learn from each success and failure. I seek feedback and to gain insight and personal and athletic improvement from the knowledge and skills of others.
In addition to academic and running activities, I engage across my community in several ways. I am a member of the Key Club and volunteer for organizations that include Mane, Inc., Alabama Primary Health Care Association, Hunter Haven Stables, Thorington Road Baptist Church, Night to Shine, and Mission Montgomery. I am also committed to sharing my knowledge, talent, and experiences by mentoring other runners and riders.
