Personal Statement

I have been very focused since Grade 7 on achieving a scholarship to compete in track and filed.  My marks have risen each year, and now in Grade 12 I am achieving an overall average in the 85% range.  After Semester #1 I completed PE(99%), Drama (90%) Biology (63%) and Aboriginal Studies (92%)  I am part way through Math 30 (82%); LA 30 (No Mark yet); Spanish 30 (90%) and Band (93%).  I  achieved Honor Roll in Grades 9, 10 and 11 at MHHS.

I love competing in track and filed, cross-country and I also play squash competitively.  I train 5-6 times a week in Calgary.  We moved from Medicine Hat to Calgaryin September, 2014.  This allows me to train full-time with my Club team in Calgary

I worked 12-14 throughout my Grade 11 year in Medicine Hat  at the local YMCA .where I learned many new skills.  I volunteered at the YMCA for about 75 hours prior to starting work. I plan to work for one year after high school before attending university in 2016.

I played the flute in our high school band, participate in Drama, and take Spanish in order to add to my high school experience.  I want to experience many different aspects of sports and culture during my high school and university years. My family and I enjoy skiing each Christmas period, and we enjoy traveling in the summer.

I want to pursue Education or Law as my career. My goal is to teach at the Jr High level and coach Jr high sports. I look forward to teaching, continuing competing in sports and traveling when I begin my career.

I am currently working at the Calgary Crowfoot YMCA until August, 2016 when I plan to attend universty.  I am continuing to train 6 days a week after work and I plan on attending 3 indoor meets in 2015/2016 and 5-6 outdoor meets in 2016 with my Club team.
