My name is Holly Veres. I am currently a senior and will be graduating from Atascadero High school in 2023. I plan to study kinesiology and become a physical therapist for my career. My goal is to run track and field at a selective college while challenging myself academically.
From training with cross country over the off season, to running sprints throughout middle school and high school, I have over 7 years of experience in track and field. I have also trained and competed in the central coast's most well known pole vaulting club: Sky Jumper's Vertical Sports Club. My main events are pole vaulting and shorter sprints including the 100m dash, 200m, and relays. I am well known for my quickness, drive, dedication, and work-ethic on the track and outside of the sport.
One of my biggest strengths is that I am very coachable. I take constructive criticism well. I listen to my coaches and teammates. I always have a positive attitude and I have the motivation to constantly improve myself. Some of my other strengths include my explosive speed, athleticism, and flexibility. I also maintain a healthy lifestyle. I train year-round by running, lifting weights, eating well, and pole vaulting.
I am a leader inside and outside of the sport. At Atascadero High school, I am involved in Associated Student Body leadership as the executive board secretary. I participate in many school activities including: rallies, dances, cheering on other sports, and spirit weeks. I balance all of my extracurricular activities with doing my best in school. Some of my academic achievements are earning an academic letter, having a 3.92 weighted GPA, being an honors student, and taking AP college level classes.
My passion for track and field has led to my interest in becoming a physical therapist. I have developed a new love and curiosity for kinesiology because of the sport. I strive to be hard working, determined, and motivated academically and on the track. I am willing to challenge myself and take my passion for track and field to the next level.
