Regan Thompson '24 Recruiting Profile

Those who know me understand that I am not afraid of hard work. I am the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave. I have trained hard to improve at many events in the sport that I love. Track and field has given me so much and I owe it immeasurably for everything that it has taught me.

My hard work was rewarded when I became the first CIF champion (Division 4) in my school’s history by winning the high jump in May of 2022.  On March 9 2023, I set a personal record (PR) in the long jump of 17 feet (after having not competed in LJ for almost 2 years).  On April 28, I became the Foothill League 400m champion with a PR of 58.01 and two weeks later, on May 13th, after having advanced to the CIF Division Finals, I competed in the 200m and 400m finals while also improving my high jump PR by 2 inches to 5'6".  2023 culminated in me competing in high jump at CIF State Championships Prelims May 26, 2023 and I I’m hoping that I can compete in the 200m and 400m at “State” next year. 

Throughout my high school track career I have always competed in 4 events at every meet/invitational and received 2nd Team Honors for 100m, 200m, 400, high jump and long jump.  I also received my school's Most Valuable Athlete Award.

However, I am much more than just an athlete. I am team captain, a leader both on and off the track and my passion for this sport motivates my teammates to become better athletes while, simultaneously, improving the team dynamic.  The ability to lead by example and motivate fellow teammates is something in which I take a lot of pride.

In addition to being a track athlete, I am an AP Scholar Athlete and Honor student with a 4.56 GPA, I’m running for Student Body Vice President and participate in many school sponsored philanthropic activities. I would love the opportunity to come play for your team and greatly appreciate your consideration of my abilities and what I could potentially bring to any team.
