Goals and aspirations? I love to run, and without a team I might not be able to do it consistently, and even if I could, wouldn't be as motivated. My friends and coaches are what keep me coming back every day. (It also lets me eat all the sweets I want without worrying about getting fat. :P) I still want to have a strong focus on school and education, though.
I joined cross country in seventh grade because the girls on my previous soccer team had been jerks, and I realized that I preferred running up and down the field to actually touching the ball anyway. Best decision I ever made. :D
The best I have to offer is that I'm not JUST a runner or JUST a scholar. I'm strong in both aspects. Not the best, of course, or I'd be at the Olympics right now. But enough to get me somewhere.
I'm cheerful, friendly, enthusiastic, intelligent, and have a good sense of sarcastic humour (in my opinion at least). I might be a bit pessimistic towards myself, but when it comes to my teammates I'm always encouraging! My passions are God, reading, and running (in that order).
In my sophomore year of high school, my cross country coach chose me, out of all of the female runners, to go to a leadership conference hosted by our school, where I heard from several speakers including Michael Josephson about how to be a leader: mainly being unselfish and always thinking about your teammates over yourself, and being PART of the team (not just a high up authority). They also stressed the importance of education, something I appreciated. I learned a lot from it.
Thanks for reading! :D
