I don't want to run in college just to get better times, I want to challenge myself by pushing myself to the limit and learn to better endure pain and persevere as long distance running teaches so well. I want to use sports as a way of getting involved with my college and bonding with other students creating friendships and building teamwork. Sports have always been my energy outlet where I mentally re-set after a stressful and tiring day of schoolwork. Running energizes me and motivates me to work harder in school and think clearer. I hope to use collegiate running both as a way to perform my best in school, grow my mental strength, build new friendships, and better enjoy my college experience while doing what I love. Still, ultimately I hope glorify God with the running ability He has given me by exercising humility, patience, endurance, and love no matter the outcome of a race, to best serve Him and reflect Him as His image bearer.
