Running has only been a hobby of mine ever since I was little. I never thought of it as something that I could do after college as a full on career. I was mainly a distance runner as a kid. I would be running in Marin with other kids; doing 6-8 miles of trail running every Sunday morning. My most memorable runs were Phoenix Lake and Muir Woods, but my most favorite one was the last one; The Dipsea Trail. I have ran the Dipsea Trail every year, but have only done the race once. It is very different to do the actual race than to run the trail. The atmosphere, the competition, and the age differences were quite large, but we all came here to run the Dipsea.
Besides running, another sport that I have been doing ever since I was little was dance. I have been doing dance ever since I was 3 and it has definitely helped me grow into the person I am today. It has helped me learn and apply corrects quickly and efficiently. Ballet in general has helped me be able to look at small details, but to also think about the big picture. We have to learn combinations quickly and be able to perform them almost flawlessly. I also became very strong all around because of all the different muscles that we have to use. Dance is still a part of my life and even though I will probably have to quit when I go off to college, it will still be a part of my life.
