In college, I aspire to learn new things, pursue my interests, and improve academically and athletically. I wish to achieve as much as possible in academics and athletics. I want to further my education in subjects that I am passionate about, such as mathematics, physics, and creative writing. I want to become a meaningful part of a collegiate team by learning from and supporting my teammates and by improving my athletic ability. I want to become a part of a community of passionate individuals, those excited to learn and those eager to compete athletically.
These weren't always my goals. There was a time in my life before I discovered running when I wanted nothing to do with athletics. My sole focus was on academics and the arts. My life was transformed the first day that I attended cross country practice. From that moment on I have been a dedicated athlete. I make a point to attend every race, invitational, meet, and practice that I can. I try my best every time I step up to the starting line. Running has become my passion, something that I am dedicated to and that I will always seek to improve in. It is my primary focus to be a pillar of leadership and inspiration for my teammates and to do whatever I can to reach my goals.
I am just as passionate about academics as I am about athletics. I strive to do my best in all my classes, even the ones that I don't particularly favor. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA my entire high school career and will continue to do my best throughout the rest of my junior year and for the duration of my senior year. For me, it isn't all about the numbers. I perform well in school because I have a strong desire to learn and grow academically. I plan to use this desire to fuel my college experience. It is my objective to succeed in college while pursuing the subjects that I am passionate about.
