Grace Pierce '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Grace Pierce and I'm a dedicated track and cross-country runner. Running has truly become a big part of my life and has been a big part of my family’s life as well. My father was a distance runner growing up, and his father was his track and cross-country coach in high school. My grandfather continues to coach to this day.

Knowing that I'm capable of running in college makes me more passionate for this sport. What I can offer to a team is the promise to always work hard and never give up. My passion for this sport is unmatched. I love when I am out on a run, especially with my teammates. I’ve made many friendships through running and will continue to work as part of a team, if possible. My most important accomplishment so far has been being nominated for team captain on my high school team. I have been on the varsity Track and Cross-Country teams at my high school since my sophomore year.

When it comes to choosing what college or university I would like to go to, my options are very open right now. I am mainly looking at west coast states (Washington, Oregon, Arizona, California, etc.) but I am open to going anywhere. I am open-minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best. It doesn't matter about the size or location; if I can receive a good education and continue my running career, I will be happy. I have not decided on a major yet, so it may change over the course of the rest of my high school career.

My realistic athletic goals are to continue running at a highly competitive level. Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team, be a leader, and to be an example to those after me. Knowing at the end of the day that I made a difference and tried my best, would keep a smile on my face.
