I have been running track since first grade through the CYO Program at Holy Spirit Catholic Parish in Fremont. I started to really take running seriously in 8th grade where I trained one on one with Coach Lee Webb from James Logan High School. He helped me improve my from and since my training with him I can say that I have improved a lot. In freshman year during track season I had an accident where I burned my leg and wasn't able to practice for some time. It was a setback and because of this injury I wasn't able to obtain the practice that I needed to get myself ready for my events. Once I had recovered, it did push me to work harder so that I would be ready for my next meet.
Sophomore year was an amazing season for Washington track and field because it was the first time in a very long time that JV Girls and Varsity girls beat James Logan High School. In addition to that my 4by4 relay team beat the meet record at MVALS. When I am running my goal is to make sure my form is correct and to beat my PR (Personal Record) in my 200 and 100m. I believe that the amount of work I put into perfecting how I run is what makes me a good athlete. I'm always asking my coaches what I need to fix to get better so that my goals are met. Track isn't my only interest, I also love helping others. Each summer since 2014, I have been going on mission trips to Mexico with my church. I have been providing vacation bible school to boys who are living in an orphanage. As a result of the work I've accomplished with the boys, my goal is to become a pediatric nurse because of how compassionate I am towards others.
