Jacquelyn Tang '22 Recruiting Profile

My passion for volleyball started 6 years ago when I walked into tryouts knowing nothing at all. By the end of the season, volleyball became my passion and I have been playing ever since. Collegiate level volleyball has been a dream of mine since I started playing and I work hard, as both a student and athlete, to turn my dreams into reality. I started playing club volleyball 3 years ago and the experience has helped me realize my growing potential as a player. Each season, I learn and grow as a player while establishing unforgettable connections with my teams. I hope to keep growing as a student and player beyond high school. I am looking forward to being a part of a program that will provide me with opportunities and challenges academically and athletically. 

I am a coachable, communicative, and responsible student-athlete both on and off the court. These characteristics have helped me grow into the person I am today. In addition, the opportunity to be team captain for multiple seasons has taught me a lot about leadership, positive mentality, and critical thinking. Coaches have always been able to rely on me to lead the team and help others. My love for volleyball and my dreams will always motivate me to become the best version of myself and I don’t let anything, including injuries, prevent me from doing what I love. Academically, my skills also help me manage my time wisely and thrive academically. I love science as much as volleyball and I have dreams of becoming a pharmacist. As a current student-athlete, I understand the importance of academics and will continue to achieve my goals as a student and an athlete to reach my full potential with my given opportunities.
