When I signed up for cross country in 6th grade, I had no clue what the sport actually entailed. Despite how exhausted and sore I was after the first practice, I quickly became hooked on the sport. Over the past six years, cross country has taught me so much discipline and has pushed me to become a better version of myself. Every day, being able to push myself through the pain and to never cheat or cut corners has made me a much tougher person. Being a student-athlete has taught me to be 100% focused in everything that I do. When I am in the classroom and studying, I am dedicated to my school work, and when I am in practice, I am devoted to my workouts. Everyday being able to grow with my team is one of the most rewarding things and we are so proud to say that we are returing to CIF after a successful season. My love for cross country has continued to push me to improve in every practice and meet. This year I have joined the Varsity Track and Field team, and I would have been competing as a mid-distance runner in 800m, 1600m, and occasionaly the 400 meters for relays. I would say that my strongest event is the 800m, but unfortunatley I have not been able to run any official races due to the Los Angeles County shelter in place.
In the future I hope to enrich myself academically and set myself up to be the most successful person I can be. I feel like I would thrive being a student-athlete in college and I would be able to manage the responsibilities of being apart of a team and representing my school.
