My name is Lexi Fernandez and I’ve been running and competing most of my life. My favorite track events are the 800 and 1500/1600, but I enjoy competing in the 3000/3200 and cross country races. My goal has always been to run for both a competitive and academic school that will challenge me to be the best in everything I do. I have always strived for the opportunity to be on a team with similar athletes, who value hard work and perseverance and who will inspire those around them. I think I would be a good candidate for any team because I am able to run at a high level while still maintaining excellent grades and being involved in both my community and philanthropy work. I want to be a role model to younger girls and women around me to show them that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. I will always push myself and my teammates to keep improving and to never give up whether its at the end of a race or getting a good grade on an exam. Having the opportunity to race at competitive races all over the country as a youth runner has made me appreciate all the opportunities I've been given to meet incredible runners, to learn, and grow as a distance runner.
