Hi, my name is Jacey Read, and am a Junior at Basalt High School. I want to run track in college because I want to be a part of a team. I play four other sports which include soccer, hockey, softball, and downhill mountain bike racing, which have all helped me become more mentally and physically tough. My sophomore year was my first year running track and I placed fourth in the state track meet without having gone to any practices due to soccer practice being at the same time. I am very raw, and I feel that with a little bit of coaching I can greatly improve my times. I am also willing to try any new events that the coach thinks that I can help my team. One of my greatest qualities as an athlete is coachability and I also have a really good work ethic.
