Hello my name is Sydney van der Zee. I have lettered in track all 3 years I have done it. Doing an individual sport like track had developed leadership skills in me, especially on the larger sprinting side. At Evergreen, there are only a couple people who do hurdles, so I have developed independence, and motivation from my coach when he is focusing on the other sprinters. I am a good candidate for you team because I am a coachable runner. I am relatively new to hurdling so my times hold a lot of potential considering that I do not have perfect form. I also am a good student reflected in my 3.5 unweighted GPA, which shows my work ethic. Evergreen High School is one of the best (and academically difficult) schools in Colorado. I also have letter 2 years in basketball and have lettered my first year of cross country. Doing team sports show how I can take into account what other people are saying. If you recruit me not only will you get a leader and a motivated student, you will get a social athlete that is passionate about running.
