Personal Statement

As a dedicated student-athlete, I am eager to pursue a collegiate level team that embraces both my academic and athletic goals. With a 3.6 GPA, active participation in the National Honor Society, and a Team Captain role in my second season ever running, I want to set the bar high for myself.

Looking ahead, I want to compete in Division 1 or 2 college athletics for both cross country and distance track. As my commitment to the sport grows, so does my determination and the belief that my best performances still lie ahead. (note: I will update my profile with all recent performances) Academically, my goal is to major in mathematics, complementing my aspiration to become a university math professor. This is very important in my college selection process, as well as a preference for institutions that offer a personalized learning experience, though I am very open to the opportunities a larger university can provide.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsNational Honor Society Member, National Top Ten Percent Exam Score from Flagship High School of Business Program (February 2024), CHSAA Academic All State First Team, 27j Athletic All-Academic Selection (2023-2024 Cross Country season), (2) Prairie View High School Business Academic letter (March 2023 and March 2022),Honor Roll (2022-23, Quarter 1-3) *after freshman year they do not give honor roll awards*
  • ActivitiesInstructors Assistant to Integrated III, similar to Algebra 2. This is apart of my schedule, however, it is extracurricular. This is nothing like a Teachers Aide. I never grade work, just re-teach the concepts from a students perspective. These are also regular 11th grade students, not honors level nor students specifically struggling with math. Jesus Club, a student run club that meets once a week to discuss their religious beliefs and relationships. It's a conversation group that is not exclusively Christian. Catholic, non-religious, and Christian students take part and it is very inclusive. I personally see it as a helpful refresher for the middle of the week. It additionally gives students with non-religious households an opportunity to explore their faith or simply bring their life problems to a group of similarly struggling people.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
